First Cold

Saha is on the way out of her first cold. She has had a runny nose all week and Friday it seemed to be getting worse so I took her to the doctor Saturday morning. The doctor checked her out, said that her lungs and ears were clear and that it was just a cold and could take up to 2 weeks to run its course. Well, later that day, she was being fussy and very clingly, which is very unusual for our little miss independent, so I took her temperature and she had a bit of a fever but it wasn't too bad. Today, she was doing the same thing and when I took her temp in the early evening it was 103.7, so Allen went out to get some baby ibuprofen. We gave her a dose and a nice long bath to help bring down the temperature (per our Dr. Sears baby book) and then let her have a longer than normal "naked fun time" after her bath. She was super happy in the bath, splashing and laughing and we could tell that she was already feeling better. After the bath she was just full of energy (she did sleep for about 4-5 hours throughout the day). I fed her around 9:45 and she was wide awake, but I thought I would try and see if she could put herself to bed. I put her in the crib and she "talked for a while" but eventually she did go to sleep! She is such an amazing girl, after being sick, being able to get herself to sleep. Now hopefully she'll sleep through the night and no fever in the morning otherwise Mommy gets to stay home with Saha on Monday!

  1. Poor girl! But what a trooper! It's the perfect boost for her immune system pre-plane ride...
