We spent Saha's first Christmas in Yuma, Arizona, with her Grandma (Judy), Grandpa (Jay), Nanima (Purnima) and Nanaji (Bipin). She had a blast being the center of attention and she got to meet a lot of extended family, including aunts, uncles, cousins and her only living great-grandparent - Grandma Bobbie. Saha got her ears pierced the Tuesday before Christmas.I don't think that it hurt her but she threw a fit because we were touching her face/head. She even was fussing when the nurse put the numbing cream on her ears. Now it's done and she won't ever remember it (and she's blinged out!)

Completely off the topic of the blog, but it was so cool. I had to share. Allen and I actually work up at 3 am on Tuesday morning to see this. It was really cold out, otherwise I would have watched longer to see it change colors. Why do lunar eclipses have to happen in the middle of the night? :-) Dang astronomy! From December 2010

I just noticed today that Saha has another tooth coming in on the bottom left. That puts the current total at seven, four on top and three on the bottom.

Sunday we spend the day at the National Aquarium in Baltimore with Kyrsten, Dave, Kaylin, PJ, Grace and Meg. We had a great time and Saha really enjoyed seeing her Aunt, Uncle, and cousins. Here are a few of photos. There are more on the online album, link at the bottom of the post. December 2010

I have finally finished captioning all of the photos. Only took me 3 weeks! I tried to be descriptive enough to make the photos more meaningful. None of the flora is labeled because I couldn't find anything online to help me figure out what they were. We will add more about South Africa later. It's late, time for bed. p.s. In our quest to find foods that Saha doesn't like, we tried wasabi peas. The quest continues. p.p.s. We don't know if she likes wasabi peas more than paper/cardboard.

Yesterday Saha had her 9 month checkup. She is 26 1/2 inches tall, weighs 17 lbs 7 oz and her head is 16 1/4 inches in circumference. Our girl sure is growing. She also has her first ear infection and boy does she not like taking her medication! We had such a fight about it this morning and she got so worked up and tired that she fell asleep on the 5 minute drive to daycare and then napped for 2 hours! She also got a flu shot, so she could have been tired from that (but no fever this morning). I'm still working on the captions for the South Africa photos. I'm about halfway done.

I'm a few days delinquent in posting her 9 month picture, but better a little late than never! Here she is looking oh so very big.

Because there's no way that I can possibly post everything at once, I'll start with some and then slowly add more. We had an AMAZING time in South Africa. The food was fantastic, the people were so friendly, and the animals were awe-inspiring. Saha got to add two countries - South Africa and Swaziland. We flew through the Netherlands but because we didn't leave the airport (just not enough time) it doesn't count (doesn't count for me either, and I've been in that airport at least 4 times!) We contemplated going into Mozambique, but it was more complicated since were weren't allowed to take the rental car there, so we decided to catch it next time.
