Saha said her first three syllable word - BUMBLEBEE! It's a pretty awesome word and we love how she says it. She also now has her first official sentence. Last week, we put her to bed and Allen and I both say "Love You Saha," and she actually answered back "Love you mom." !!!!! I may be biased, but I think that's a sentence, it's got all the required parts, right? Tonight she actually said "love you mom" and "love you dad" when we put her to bed! So sweet!!!! Her current favorite song is " Peanut butter jelly time " only because we started singing it over the weekend at the corn maze. She still loves "Row Row Row your boat'" and Elmo's Ducks . I think that we've weaned her a bit off the Elmo obsession, though and now it's more of a treat, as it should be. She is one smart cookie and actually understand cause and effect. Saha had a lot of firsts this weekend. Saturday - Event #1 - First #1: Seeing the Dalai Lama! Chillin' out, waiting for the Dalai Lama to come on stage. Saturday - Event #2: Iron Chef with friends up in Rockville Playing on the roof deck chairs. With friends Natalie and Sophie With Caleb All the girls and Natalie Saturday - Event #3 - First #2 - FIREWORKS! Alexandria celebrates it's birthday the week after the 4th and there are fireworks in the park pretty much directly over from us along the river. Before the fireworks, the live orchestra performed 1812 Overture, complete with canons, which didn't scare Saha one bit. She also loved the fireworks and was pointing up at them the whole time. Overall Saturday was a very long day. Saha woke up at 5:45, took a nap in the afternoon that was half on Dad's shoulder coming back from the Mall and half in her bed when we got home, and then was up until 11 pm. Sunday, we all slept in. Every day we are more amazed by what our girl understands. Yesterday, when I went to go pick her up from daycare, she was playing outside in the little courtyard they have for the kids. She came inside with me and I said "Saha let's go to your classroom and get your paper." (the paper we get every day with what she ate, how she slept, diaper changes, etc.) She ran to the door, I opened it, and she ran over to the wall where the papers are and pointed up to them. I took hers down and handed it to her and we walked out to the car. So smart! We got her a mesh bag for her bath toys because they are getting a bit out of control. I used it for the first time yesterday. She was able to take the toys out of the bag pretty easily. When bathtime was over, I started putting the toys back in the bag and said, "Saha time to put away the toys" and she put the rest in there, put her shampoo and soap bottles back on the ledge of the tub and then turned around and put her hand...

Today, when we were out for dinner to celebrate Allen's birthday, Saha did the sign for "more" all by herself, the real sign, not clapping, without us even saying the word! I was so amazed and proud of her! How long have I been trying to teach her that sign?! Hooray Saha! She can also point to her nose and her feet if you ask her to, and she'll rub her belly if you ask her where it is. Every day we are amazed by how much more she comprehends. She definitely understands a lot and we can tell that she's trying to talk. Something that we just started when driving in the car: I'll say  "la la la la la la la" and Saha will reply "yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah"  (or something like that). She seems to trying to say it, but can't quite get it, but she does sing back to us! She is such a happy-go-lucky girl, smiling and giggling all the time.

Saha's latest accomplishment is that she can bring herself to sitting. This week she has really perfected it and now she does it with no trouble at all. If she's on her back, she'll roll over to her stomach and then push herself back to sit. This is now how she gets around. She seems to have given up on trying to crawl at the moment, but she has found a work-around that works for her, even though it is more effort than crawling.

Saha spent her first night in her own room last night. I put her down around 10:30 and she didn't wake up until 4 am! I fed her and she went back to her own bed and didn't wake up again until 9 am. I would call that a very successful first night in a different room from mom and dad. They grow up so fast! :-)

This past weekend Saha took her first trip on an airplane to visit the Bourdons (Allen's sister and her family) in Minneapolis, MN. The reason for the trip was Meg's (the youngest Bourdon's) first communion, but it was also a good excuse for Saha to meet her Aunt Kyrsten, Uncle Dave and cousins Kaylin, PJ, Grace and Meg. Allen's parents were also there (Jay and Judy), as was Dave's mom (Paulette). We arrived on Saturday, around 11 am and were picked up by Jay and Kaylin and taken to PJ's baseball game. We got there just as it ended, so we then all went home and had lunch. After lunch we went to PJ's other baseball game and partway through Kyrsten, Judy, Paulette, Grace and Meg joined us from Meg and Grace's soccer games. After PJ's game, we all went to Meg and Grace's second soccer games for the day. It was overcast, cold and windy all day so after spending a a few hours outside we were cold and tired. Here she is making her YouTube debut! It's not super exciting, but at least you'll get to see her move around and awake. This is her right when she wakes up before she realizes that she wants either food or a diaper change, which she lets us know pretty quickly! You'll get the beginning of that at the end of the video.
