Labor Day Weekend and other things
Over labor day weekend we went to Utah to visit Nana and Nani (and to go to one of my high school friend's wedding reception).
Friday, Saha, Dad and Nana went to the Hogle Zoo, which is just a 5 minute drive from Nana and Nani's house.
Hathi!
Hathi!
Giraffe!
Who let Saha stick her hand through the tiger fence? (Dad.....)
Allen said that the crocs were frozen in that position the whole time they were there.
Friday night we had a dinner party in the backyard with some of our closest family friends.
Saturday morning we went to Red Butte Garden, where Nani volunteers all the time.
Saturday evening was Tuan and Katya's third and final wedding reception. They will be moving to Singapore shortly. Tuan got a professorship at the University of Singapore!
Sunday morning we went to brunch in Park City at the Stein Ericksen Lodge.
Later that evening after her nap, Saha had fun playing outside with Nana
We sat outside and had some wine and spicy peanuts. Saha loved the peanuts. She would eat a couple, take a swig of milk and then ask for more! She probably ate at least 10-12 of them! She's definitely got spice in her blood already!
Saha loves seeing herself, so we take lots of pictures with the front camera on the iPhone, which, unfortunately, doesn't have nearly as high of a resolution.
Saha's favorite song at the moment is "Row Row Row Your Boat." Allen had to sing it to her for about 10 minutes straight on the plane ride to Utah to get her to go to sleep. When Saha sings it, it comes out as "Whoa Whoa Whoa, TEE! Money, money money money, TEE!"
She has so many words now and knows so many body parts, it's amazing. She's also getting very good and saying please and thank you, although we have to prompt her more for please but we also just started teaching her that about a month ago.
Her favorite foods right now are cheese, milk and cheerios. She says "Chee?" and does the sign, says "Cheeri? and says "No?" and does the sign for milk when she want some. Another of my favorite words of her's is pasta, which comes out as "Bata?" (with a hard T).
She is really far into an Elmo obsession. She will randomly just say "Elmo?" and it turns into "ELMO!" When we were in Utah over the weekend, we were driving back from Park City and in the car she just kept saying, "Elmo? No Elmo," over and over, I think because, "No Elmo," is Allen's response when she says, "Elmo?" We've now started replying "elbow" when she says "Elmo" and it turns it into a game, which is good because she has started to throw tantrums when we deny her Elmo.
Saha is getting much better at listening and following directions. Just last weekend, she wanted to walk around. I told her "Saha I can put you down but you have to hold my hand. If you don't hold my hand then you don't get to walk." We walked around for at least 10 minutes with her holding my hand the whole time. Before this, getting her to hold our hand to cross a street or walk through a parking lot was a fight. Now she'll just do it! Hooray!

Looks like you guys had a nice relaxing weekend with barely anything to do in Salt Lake!
