Canaan Valley, West Virginia - Columbus Day Weekend
Over Columbus Day weekend, we took a trip to West Virginia with a bunch of friends. We rented a great house in the mountains , spent a lot of time relaxing, walking/hiking and eating good food.

Saha had her first real stomp in the leaves. The evening that we got there, Allen brushed the leaves into a big pile and then Saha proceeded to run through them. She would run through and then grab the broom and try to sweep them back together. This was quite amusing.

Saha really liked this rocking chair and she figured out how to get in it all by herself pretty quickly.

The first hike we did Saturday morning was down to this pretty waterfall in the nearby state park. It was boardwalk/stairs all the way down. Pretty nice and easy.

Mary Helen and Margo with Tristan the dog.

Gorgeous leaves!
We came across this playground that was a bit strange. It had this merri-go-round thing that you swung from instead of sat on.

Alisa and Alex swinging

Saha really liked this stump and once I put her on it, I had a hard time getting her to leave it.

Super cool caterpillar.

Sunday afternoon hike.

Remember this image forever because never again will Saha be surrounded by so many VHS tapes. We even watched Zoolander on VHS and it took us a little while to remember how to work it - and no, the person before was not kind and they did not rewind!

Saha discovers pockets!

All of us: (standing L to R) Alisa, Viola, Allen, Saha, Purvi, (sitting L to R) Margo, Tristan, Boris, Alex, Mary

State park Monday morning

Saha ran, tripped and then decided to just lay there for a little bit.

:-)

Cool caterpillar

As Saha would say "mum-ble bee!!"

Beautiful foliage. Awesome caterpillars. Love those hanging merry-go-rounds (a little tough for little girls like Saha and M all by themselves). And fun vacation!
ReplyDeleteCute sweater! ;)
